My Invitation for Pond's VIP Pre-Sale from Nuffnang
After arriving at Unilever in UN Ave. Manila, we were greeted by the guards who were really welcoming and hospitable. We asked if we were late for the event and the guards honestly informed us that for the 3-5 pages list of attendees, only 3 bloggers came before us to think that we arrived at around 6pm and the event was scheduled to start at 10am. We actually laughed about it and thought that maybe this is not actually an event with lotsa fed information about the products that won't stock us to what most of the people know about Pond's - whitening, ati-aging and all - but a literal Pre-Sale. After a few minutes of chit chats, the guards turn us over to Ms. Friendly (I forgot her name) and told us that she will introduce us to Pond's assistant manager. I was quite looking forward for the meeting, expecting to be informed about the products or rather say "sale's talk" for me to eagerly write something extra-special for them. Well boy! I was wrong. Maybe I really just set high expectations on their Pre-Sale because of the VIP term used just for us Nuffies. Well, I thought I'd rather buy at the nearest Watson's stores in Alabang rather than wasting an extra-mile just to get there in their so-called Pre-Sale. After all the high I've got at Goldilocks and Nuffnang's Bloggers Event, I thought the VIP Pre-sale would be as fun as it was. The guy pointed the ladies in gray outfits to be the one we should ask if we do have any questions regarding their products. Oh, what happened to the friendly face who greeted us when we arrived? Maybe he better introduced us the the ladies in gray rather that approaching them ourselves, right? And to think that we are the only person who weren't a Unilever employee in the Hall. Don't we deserve even a bit of what they call "valued customer" or customers for that matter?
Anyhoo, I said to my hubby that I would still buy 3 facial masks for me, my mama and my mama-in-law BUT Pond's Facial Mask was out-of-stock! We were "informed" that we can go to Watson's Makati Branch for it has all the items they got on sale. My mind wants to scream: "Nasa Unilever na kami, wala pang stocks?!" (We're already at Unilever(the company behind Pond's) how come they do not have stocks?!) So it was a real big time blessing in disguise for them that a lot of bloggers did not came to witness their event. Or else more of us will be writing the same feedback and that would be bad, err really bad for them. But with all the hassle they brought us, I still whole-heartedly took pictures. And my calm-looking but ready-to-burst hubby asked if we can go to the comfort room to breath some air. I asked Ms. Friendly, who was talking over her mobile phone, and she happily lead us the way. After that, we didn't go back to Magkakaibigan Hall. We managed to escape secretively, but, we stopped over by their lobby to savor the smell of Surf and other Unilever products and still took a couple of shots before going home. We were so disappointed. Not only for our expectations that were never met but for the out-of-stock product as well.
(Thanks to the guards in white, for easing the pressure inside this room)
A Badtrip Daddy and the cool chic that I was... another hehehe for that!
After all the inconvenience that day brought to me and my hubby, I still told him that I wanna buy the facial mask if we have time to drop by at Watson's Festival Mall Alabang. I badly needed one for my current bottle of facial mask is saying her last goodbye.hehe I also checked their website and found out that Pond's 70% off Sale is available in Liana's Super Market in Parian Calamba City, a much closer place where we can indulge for the sale items. You can click H E R E to know more about their month-long sale (from August 15 - September 15) and the chosen location for their booths.
Oh, and by the way, the experience WILL NOT stop me in attending another Nuffnang event or buy my favorite Pond's items. But of course, may be I'll get second thoughts on any PRE-SALE invitations along the way.
